A Sunday School
I don't think there is any better work than Christian education.
I always get back ten times more than I give.
One year the Diocese asked the Sunday Schools to make and send
ornaments to decorate the big Christmas tree in the cathedral
in New York City. Our Sunday School decided to make oil-based
painted glass ornaments. Every child did one, and they turned
out beautifully. But, as we were finishing up, there was paint
everywhere. I had paint all over me. The kids were running around
like maniacs. Standing in the middle of the huge mess I thought,
"Why do I do this to myself?"
As I was thinking that, one of the little girls came up to me,
tugged on my skirt, and said, "Thank you, Ms. Lauren. This
was so much fun."
